This is a Selmer Paris Q Series wood alto clarinet from the 1950's, serial number Q1276. The clarinet does feature plateau style key work. These clarinets can work well for wood wind doublers and studio players.
This particular clarinet is currently not in the prettiest of condition at this time. It looks like it was played on for many years before being put away. The clarinet is not playing at this time and will need a complete mechanical overhaul before it is ready for any serious use. In addition to needing pads and materials replaced the wood is due to be oiled and clean up to the bell, neck and key work would be recommended as well.
Looking over the body joints of the clarinet carefully with all the key work still on the joints we have not seen any history of past pin work on the clarinet. There is past damage around the lower body joint near where the body meets the bell. See pictures 20-23.
At this time we have number of older used clarinets listed in as is condition at lower prices. This one is ultimately going to need a thorough restoration before is going to be ready for serious playing.
Ships in as is condition with bell, neck piece and case.
