Pictured above is a vintage Noblet alto clarinet with nickel silver, plateaued keys, serial #2438. This clarinet is playing just barely through a lot of leaks and some key binds, it could absolutely use an overhaul to clean up the mechanisms, get a uniform feel, and repair a few cracks forming.
This alto clarinet has plateaued keys with an aperture in the E/B key in the left hand for altissimo register playing. The plateaued clarinets are much easier to play after an overhaul, so folks looking for an alto clarinet without key rings, this is a great instrument for you. Doublers would benefit greatly, as Noblet is a reputable brand for intermediate clarinets that play to a high quality.
This one isn't playing very well, but from the bit of play testing that was possible, the low register is a bit more narrow or compact than you'd normally expect. The Clarion and altissimo registers are very thick in comparison, which is a nice feature. There are nickel plated posts between the nickel silver keys, and stoppers behind some of the side keys.
It's hard to discern what year this was manufactured, but the emblem stamp on the upper joint indicates it is somewhere around the 1960s.
If you're looking for a fixer-upper to get into an alto clarinet with some potential, this Noblet is a great playing instrument, tonally capable of passing as a professional sound.
This instrument will ship in as-is playing condition in a Leblanc tweed case with a red plush interior.
