Légère reeds are made from a special polymer compound with a very fine microtexture. They have low density, so that they float, like cane reeds. In fact, the material is designed to mimic the important properties of damp cane as closely as possible. Because of the microtexture, Légère can machine very fine tips for the fantastic response you would expect from a great reed.

Professionals tend to prefer the Signature Series reeds, which produce a warm, rich tone in all registers. Signature Series reeds are made from a stiffer material and are cut thinner than Légère's Classic Series reeds. These changes make the Signature Series reeds more flexible across the tip, producing a full spectrum of overtones and a beautiful sound with minimum effort.
